Our good friend Martin drove us to Prague (it took about 8 hours but it was so worth it! They call Prague the "poor man's Paris"...I have not been to Paris, but Prague was awesome! Plus big beers of the original Budweiser (brewed in Czeck) were only a dollar everywhere!!! See "smaller files" below for short descriptions. Pictures 05/13-17/05

Barcelona Part 1,3 After the week in the Alps, we spent the weekend in Barcelona. Lightstone joined us there before spending the next week with us in Karlsruhe. Pictures 03/5-7/05

Amsterdam Here is our trip to Amsterdam. We took it a couple of day after Patrick and Janine arrived. It took 6 hours to get there by train. On the way there we changed trains five times, on the way back we changed trains once...we are learning. It was a fun city. Pictures Don't currently remember the date.
Thanksgiving This was our first Thanksgiving so far away from home but we all agree that we did a great job. We shared the experience with our new friends Dale and Keir (from the UK) and Lucia from Spain. Enjoy, we did!!!! Pictures 11/27/04

Tower of London This video shows shows the tour we took of the Tower of London. This tour was given by the queen's Yeomen guards (Beefeaters, yeah the Gin). The Yeomen guards have been guarding the tower for over 900 years. All their stories were passed down through the generations, and told on the tour. The Black Forrest We went on a day trip with a group of Germans to the Black Forrest. We first went though an old iron ore mine and then on a 15+ km (9+ Mile) "walk" over a mountain. 09/25/04
Heidelberg's Schloss This is the Schloss in Heidelberg. It was first built in the 1300s. Structures were added to it for 200 years until the French destroyed most of it during the 30 years war. The last rulers lived there in the 1700s. 09/25/04
Heidelberg Our first weekend trip was to Heidelberg. It is 40 minutes away by train. It is where the army base is. There is a large old castle (Schloss) there. While we were there, an open air, medieval festival was going on. Pictures 09/25/04
Karlsruhe Schloss The Schloss (palace), the central feature of Karlsruhe, is a little over 100 yards from our doorstep. 09/25/04
