The Weekend

This past weekend we had our postdoc picnic where we played two-hand touch football. I am still sore. It was a good day.

We also watched some football with friends. Right after we arrived, Mina, the dog was trying to lick Jack's face which he doesn't like very much. He was starting to cry about it, so I picked him up. Right when I picked him up, blood started running from his nose. We brought him in to the kitchen and ended up having to put him in the sink. The blood just wouldn't stop. Me, Carisa and Nate Mara were trying to wipe it up and get it to stop. We all had blood all over us and soon Jack's shirt was covered in it. We kept trying to wipe it while pinching his nose to stem the bleeding but the more we did that, the more Jack got upset and kept trying to get away from us snorting blood all over in the meantime.

Eventually, although it seemed like forever, the bleeding stopped after ~5-10 minutes. Then we all got to change our bloody clothing and go about our day. Jack wasn't phased at all. I guess he takes after his Uncle Ryan who I remember used to get nose bleeds pretty often.
