First Phase of Moving is Over
Happy Labor Day!
A great visit with my dad and Tracy just ended. It was so nice to have them here to visit with us and Jack. They were a great help for two weeks...changing all the poopy diapers and giving baths every night. It was also fun giving "the tour" of Los Alamos and the surrounding area for the last time. The first week went at a nice pace and the second week went too fast. Saying good bye at the airport was not as hard as it usually is with guests since we are coming home soon. It would have otherwise been pretty hard, but instead we could say, "See you soon!"
Also while they were here Carisa booked our movers, plane tickets and bought moving supplies. We are scheduled for a one way ticket home on Wednesday, October 17th! So it is starting to happen. In addition, we "started" the move by sending Toby the Cat home with my dad and Tracy. We tried to get some sedatives in him so he could relax during the trip (Toby, not my dad) but we were not very successful. Therefore, unfortunately, Toby cried the whole time. Then during the last half-hour of the last flight he went nuts; thrashing in his carrier and then pushing on the opening so hard that he broke through and started to escape. My dad began pushing him back in the bag as Toby tried to bite and claw his way out. Luckily Dad got Toby back in the bag and the flight ended. I felt pretty bad for all parties involved but at least Toby is now back home in New Jersey with us soon to follow. He was the first traveler in our final travels. Once we get home I don't think Carisa and I will fly again for a few years, especially not with cats anyway.
In about a month my mom will fly out here for one last visit and most importantly to help us get packed and moved home. She will be a great help, especially with the plane ride home which will be me, Carisa, Jack, my Mom and Nala the Cat. The extra hands will make the trip so much easier.
So for anyone that missed it up above:
We are flying home for good on Wednesday, October 17th!!!
